I’m a teleworker and I’m having trouble with my Avaya phone

Below are some simple troubleshooting steps. Please work through them and if you still have problems then contact Corporate IT using details found here

1. How do I connect my phone?
Note: The port labels on the power injector/power supply will vary according to make.

Plug the phone power injector into an outlet.
Place an ethernet cable in the ‘PHONE’ or ‘Data Out’ port on the power injector and connect the other end of the cable to the Avaya phone port with a phone screen icon above it (the right most port when looking at the back of the phone).
Place another ethernet cable in the ‘LINE IN’ or ‘Data In’ port on the power injector and place the other end of the cable in an open port on your home network router/switch.

2. How do I log into my phone?
There are two ways to log into your phone: Logging in using the display buttons:

Press the button next to ‘Login’ on the phone LCD
Enter your 4 digit extension on the dialpad when you see the ‘Enter Extn:’ prompt on the LCD and press # to move to the next screen.
Enter your 4 digit password when you see the ‘Password:’ prompt and press # to complete the login process.
Dialpad shortcut to log into your phone:

* 35 * your extension * your passphrase

For example your ext is 6800 and your passphrase is 4321: * 35 * 6800 * 4321 #

How do I go about purchasing, or requesting IT equipment or software?

For software licensing under $1,000 a Manager level or above must put in a service request http://servicedesk please identify the employee and software application you are requesting. Please allow 7-10 days for your purchase request to be processed.
Subscriptions or items over 1k require VP or GM level approval from the dept.
Any software application that is running on an employee owned laptop/Desktop/Server is required to have a valid license maintained by the corp IT team in your assigned country. Software that is discovered during our quarterly scans that does not have a valid license will need to be removed or purchased immediately.
Equipment & Software purchases under 1k are budgeted at a global level with a percentage allocated to each country based on the number of employees.

How do I access the VPN?

If you’re on a HomeAway laptop you can access the VPN in the following way:

For users in the US
Connect to https://vpn.homeawaycorp.com

For users in the EU
Connect to https://vpn.homeawaycorp.eu

In both cases this will automatically start (or download if needed) the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client.

If you receive a login failed message please contact Corporate IT so that we can enable your user account for VPN access.
